Why Aangan

You live beside hundreds of people. You probably know five.

Modern neighbourhoods are full of people we'd enjoy knowing — but life rarely gives us the chance. Someone two floors up plays your sport. A retired teacher wants to mentor children. Parents are looking for playmates. Volunteers are waiting to be asked.

Nobody is missing a notice board. They're missing an introduction. That is the whole reason Aangan exists.

How it works

Interests in. Introductions out.

Most community apps wait for you to go looking. Aangan works the other way round — it knows what you enjoy, so it can tell you who else does.

interests01

Say what you're into

Badminton, books, birding, baking. Joining takes a minute — you just tap what you enjoy. The details come later, in context: what level you play at, which evenings you're free.

diversity_302

Meet the neighbours who match

Aangan introduces you to residents, groups and activities that fit — instead of waiting for you to search. Every suggestion is a real neighbour or a real group, never a guess.

sports_tennis03

Do something this week

A doubles game on Saturday at six. A book club that meets on the terrace. A tutor two blocks away. One tap to join, and the organiser knows you're coming.

local_fire_department04

And keep doing it

Streaks, challenges, private circles and quiet recognition turn a one-off into a habit. That's the difference between a community app people install and one they open.

Imagine how a community starts

  1. “I like badminton.”

One person says so when they join.

  2. “Twelve neighbours play too.”

Aangan tells them — they never had to ask.

  3. “Saturday, 6pm, court 2.”

One of them posts a game. Four spots fill.

  4. “Same time next week?”

    It becomes a fixture.

  5. Your society has a badminton club.

Nobody set out to start one.

That is how a community actually grows — one small interaction at a time.

verifiedSuggestions start with real people, groups and activities. AI can help rank and explain them, while your interests and discovery settings guide what you see.

What that turns into

The things neighbours end up doing together.

sports_tennis

Find people to play with

Post a game with date, venue, skill level and how many you need. Neighbours join, the waitlist fills itself, and nobody has to ask a WhatsApp group twice.

trophy

Run a tournament across societies

A proper inter-apartment sports fest: entries by sport, teams and captains, fixtures, live scores and a leaderboard. Several societies play each other, and the organising committee runs the whole thing from a console rather than a spreadsheet.

groups

Start a group that lasts

Book clubs, walking groups, parents, chess. Organisers run polls to lock a date, and everyone gets the reminder — so plans stop dying in a thread.

school

Learn from your own neighbours

The maths tutor, the Bharatanatyam teacher, the badminton coach — found by what you need, verified by the committee, and rated by people you can actually name.

emoji_events

Take on a challenge together

Reading, steps, meditation — run across a whole society, or across several. Progress follows the resident, so a challenge can span the neighbourhood, and participation earns recognition through Aangan’s internal coins.

casino

Play, in private circles

A daily arcade with community leaderboards, plus invite-only circles for family and friends — the small, low-stakes reason to open the app on a Tuesday.

restaurant

Eat what the building cooks

Home kitchens and market stalls run by residents, with orders, deadlines and pickup handled — the oldest way neighbours have ever met each other.

storefront

Buy from the lane outside your gate

The dairy, the bakery, the pharmacy, the electrician — the shops your neighbours already use, rated by people you can name. Filter by what delivers, or by what is open now.

local_shipping

The milk, every morning, without the argument

A standing order a household sets once — a litre a day, paused while they travel. The vendor opens tomorrow's round on a phone, sorted by block, and the month adds itself up as it goes: a list of days either side can check before anybody pays.

Beyond your own gate

A society of 200 can't sustain a chess club. A neighbourhood of 2,000 can.

Some interests are simply too rare for one building. So discovery reaches into nearby communities when residents choose to be found — same interests, one gate over. Your neighbours always see you; everyone beyond that is your decision, flag by flag.

Actual app screen · demo data

The part nobody else does

If your community needs something that doesn't exist, we build it.

Every society runs itself a little differently, and most software pretends otherwise — you get a fixed product, a feature request form, and silence. We'd rather work with your committee on how the place is actually run, and then write the code.

handshake

We start with how you run things today

Before anything is switched on, we sit with your committee and map the real process — the register at the gate, the spreadsheet the treasurer guards, the WhatsApp group that somehow runs the AGM.

tune

You switch on only what you need

Every module is per-community. A society that only wants engagement never sees a billing screen. One that runs its own accounts gets the full ledger. Nothing in between is forced.

construction

If it doesn't exist, we build it

A workflow specific to your society, a report your auditor insists on, a form nobody else needs — tell us and we build it. It ships into your community, and it keeps working after we leave.

For community leaders

Give your community more than a notice board.

A good committee doesn't just send announcements — it creates reasons for people to turn up. That work is usually unpaid, thankless and done by four people. Aangan takes as much of it off them as software reasonably can.

campaign

Stop manufacturing engagement every week

Most committees carry participation on their own backs — chasing people for the Diwali event, begging for volunteers, reposting the same message. Aangan makes discovery automatic, so activity starts without someone having to start it.

insights

See what's actually working

Which activities draw people, which blocks have gone quiet, who turned up and who hasn't opened the app in a month. Participation you can see is participation you can do something about.

workspace_premium

Recognise the people who carry it

Every society runs on a handful of residents who organise, volunteer and show up. Aangan gives you a way to say so publicly — which is usually all it takes to get a second year out of them.

And the everyday running of the place

Everything a society needs — quietly, in the background.

Gate, bills, books, meetings and audits are all here, and they're thorough. But they exist so the committee can stop firefighting and get back to the community — not the other way round. Switch on only what you need.

Tell us about your community

diversity_303

Residents find each other

Principles

Why communities choose Aangan.

favorite

Connection first

Belonging matters more than broadcasting announcements. Every other feature exists to serve that.

spa

Calm by design

No spam, no clutter, no noisy timelines — a nudge worth acting on, or nothing at all.

lock

Privacy built in

Every community's data is isolated at the database level. Residents choose what neighbours outside their gate can see, and we never sell any of it.

engineering

A team you can reach

Small enough that a request from your committee reaches the people who write the code — usually the same week.

Pricing

Community should be free. Running it shouldn't be expensive.

Everything that brings neighbours together is free for every community, forever. You pay only for the operational modules you switch on — and for anything you ask us to build.

Our vision

The next social network won't connect strangers. It will reconnect neighbours.

The original आँगन was the heart of every home — a shared courtyard where people met naturally, children played together, and communities grew. Modern cities have grown taller, faster and busier, and somewhere along the way we stopped knowing the people living beside us.

We believe technology shouldn't pull people further apart — it should quietly help them find each other again. Our mission is simple:

To rebuild the social fabric of neighbourhoods, one community at a time.

About us

Built by people who believe communities matter.

Aangan is a product of DyuthiX Technologies Private Limited. We're engineers, community volunteers and builders who believe neighbourhoods become stronger when people know each other, help each other and build together. We're small on purpose — small enough that when your committee asks for something, you talk to the people who write the code. If that sounds like the partner you want, we'd love to hear from you.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Because Aangan isn't built around announcements — it's built around people. You tell it what you enjoy, and it introduces you to the neighbours, groups and activities that match. Residents come to find their people and join things, not to approve visitors.
Two ways. First, they start at the gate; we start with the people inside it — interest-based discovery, groups, sports partners, classes and challenges are the product, not a tab. Second, they ship you a fixed product; we work with your committee and build what your society is actually missing.
Yes — that's the point of working with a small team. Tell us the workflow that doesn't fit, the report your auditor insists on, the process everyone still does on paper. We scope it with you and build it into your community's Aangan.
No, and it shouldn't try. WhatsApp is good at conversation and bad at everything else — a game that needed four people is unreadable by evening, and nobody can find the AGM notice from March. Aangan takes the things chat handles badly: interests, groups, activities with a joining list, events, challenges and records worth keeping. An event even goes into the resident's own phone calendar — Apple or Google — in one tap, with the venue and how long it runs, which is the part a forwarded message has never managed. The chatter stays where it is.
Outside your own community, yes — separately for being findable, for your profile being readable, and for being messaged. Inside it, no: anyone in your society can find you, open your profile and message you, because that is what living in the same society means. Your flat number is never shown to anyone outside your community, whatever your settings say.
Yes. Discovery, groups, activities, governance and participation are free forever. Operational modules are switched on per community — if you never want a billing screen, you'll never see one.
Your community’s records stay scoped to your community. Residents can choose to be discoverable beyond it, with separate controls for profiles and messages. Personal habits, steps and circles follow the person across communities.
Yes — both are live, and residents can also use the web. Push notifications, the SOS alarm and gate approvals all work on device. Download for iPhone or get it on Android.
We start with your community structure, resident list and the modules you need. The setup and any custom work are agreed with your committee before launch, so everyone knows what happens next.
